biography
With
a line-up established in 2001, Leeds based FULC
have developed a national profile and following through hard
work and relentless gigging. FULC are renowned for their livewire
stage shows mixing headline dates with support for the likes
of Kinesis, Span, Martin Grech, Oceansize, and Whitesnake
M3. FULC tours are sponsored by Jagermeister.
FULC
tracks “Nest” and “Backroom Surgery”
appeared on BBC Radio 1 One Music. Mike Davies described the
band as - "Fantastic. Fulc have
got subtlety down to a fine art. This is both melodic and
bowel-shakingly heavy and will have rock fans creaming themselves
to catch them perform live." FULC were no.1 in
the “Lock Up” chart for 6 months.
Playlisted
on Radio One July 2003, Mary
Anne Hobbs selected FULC to perform at a Rock Show gig in
Leeds in June 2003. FULC have subsequently been playlisted
throughout June and July 2004 on Storm
Radio receiving no fewer than 100 plays during that
period.
Kerrang
described the band as “one of
the most vibrantly inventive young bands in the UK today –
it’s refreshing to come across a band that doesn’t
want to fit in “ and “A
tidy package of real song writing ability and sweaty grunge-metal
attitude - FULC have a vision and talent far too large and
varied to be cramped by such a small stage”
FULC
currently have three UK releases – the “Void”
EP (2001), the “Fallen”
EP (2002 Stunted Records) and their debut album “Biting
Insomnia” (2003 Stunted Records - distributed
by Shellshock). Both Stunted releases were recorded at Sawmills
(Muse, Oasis, Supergrass etc) in Cornwall with Muse engineer
Mark Thomas. Digital download singles – “Pedestal”
(Weedradio 2004) and "Wasting"
(Karmadownload 2005) have been released.
FULC
have recorded their next release "Embrace.Destroy"
at The Chapel Studios (The Darkness,
Funeral for a Friend, Machine Head, Inme) in Lincolnshire.
“Biting Insomnia” and "Embrace.Destroy"
will be released in Germany via Rough
Trade Germany in March 2005 and via Shellshock
in the UK. FULC undertake a European tour in March / April
2005.
