B*MOVIE HEROES

Anthems For The Underdog

KKKK

Ed Woods new band. Actually, thats a lie.
ROCK 'N' roll is never happier than when it's biting and spitting, but simultaneously flirting like a fresher. The perfectly orchestrated collision of menace and melody isn't an easy feat to achieve, but B*Movie Heroes have had a damn good shot with their debut album.
Featuring former Yo-Yo Neil Phillips, the British four-piece snarl and coo in equal measure on bittersweet anthems like 'The Drug' and 'Stuck Like Glue'. Later, the lads serve up a double-jab that would make Lennox Lewis proud with 'Call To Arms' and 'Say My Name'.
An intoxicating cocktail of Cheap Trick, The Wildhearts and the Ramones, if the B*Movie Heroes were American, they'd be... ahh to hell with it.

about....

B MOVIE HEROES were formed in January 2001 after the return of guitarist/vocalist Neil Phillips from the ever wayward Yo-Yo's, the B-Movie Heroes, completed by drummer Scott Garrett, bassist/vocalist Russ Carlin and guitarist/vocalist Dean McCreadie, are the antidote to today's faceless dance acts, indie by numbers chart acts, and 'oh-so-alternative' nu-metal bands.

With a sound based on the pure principal that the songs make the band, their music is uncompromising yet memorable, aggressive yet subtle and by linking the full on guitars and pounding rhythm section with 3 part bitter sweet harmonies they just about manage to soften the blow enough to leave you wanting more.

The B-Movie Heroes have established themselves as one of the hardest working unsigned bands in the country, winning an impressive following through constant touring with the likes of King Prawn, [spunge], 4ft Fingers, The Suffrajets, Die So Fluid and The Wildhearts. Combine that hard work ethic with some of the most exciting and stunning new rock music in today's scene and you have a band who are making people notice by playing the game on their own terms.

The release of the Rock Music EP, from which a track appeared on a Metal Hammer CD, further established B-Movie Heroes as one of the shining lights in the UK rock scene, playing to packed houses up and down the country. It also saw the band gain their first Radio 1 exposure with tracks featuring on the Evening Session and Rock Show. Indeed Radio 1 described them as "the hottest new band in Britain"

The bands debut album, Anthems For The Underdog ( released 14th July 2003) was preceded by the stunning single Kid With A Temper, both available on Spank Records. The release of the album was met with rave reviews by both the music media (see below and Press) and music lovers alike. Indeed, such was the acclaim with which the debut album was received, B Movie Heroes embarked on a mammoth 60+ date tour of the UK. This meant the planned touring of Europe, North America, and other territories has been postponed to 2004.

The 'Anthems For The Underdog' tour (otherwise known as the 'Gig Til You Drop' tour) which commenced 2nd October and ran to 20th December 2003, further established B Movie Heroes as one of the hardest working, in-demand, upcoming rock bands in the UK today.

As a new dawn rose on 2004, B Movie Heroes filmed the video for the single 'Call To Arms', embarked on a further series of UK tours throughout 2004 (including a 3 week Big Cheese Sponsored Tour of UK (April)), before heading to the studio to start work on Album No.2, which is planned for a 2005 release.

Rumour has itthe new B Movie Heroes material will be sounding badder, dirtier and rockier than before.......

Forget going to the Movies to see a good film, go see the B Movie Heroes to see one of the finest bands around on the live circuit today.
